QATV will hold "Orientation to TV" sessions on Tuesday, February 27th at 6:30pm and Wednesday, February 28th at 6:30pm for citizens of Quincy who are interested in producing a show or volunteering on a show produced at QATV.

This one-hour session will get you started on the road to producing your own TV show, volunteering on other productions, learning how to use a camcorder, video editing software and other aspects of TV production! Come learn about public access television and why community producers let the citizens of Quincy "see the difference!"

A Studio Production course will begin on Tuesday, March 6th and be held Tuesdays through April.  Portable Production will begin on Wednesday, March 7th and be held Wednesdays through April.

Quincy Access Television will telecast Mayor Thomas Koch's "State of the City" address on Tuesday, January 30th at Noon on QATV-8 and QATV-9.  The address will also replay at 8pm on QATV-9.

Quincy Access Television will be on hiatus for the next few weeks. During this brief shutdown, our studios will be getting upgrades including new cameras, and software for our editors.

All the upgrades will be complete by early February, at which time we will be offering basic studio and portable production classes, to teach the community the fundamentals of producing television. We will also be offering advanced training in lighting and audio for those members interested in improving their skills, and the production value of their programs. In addition, we are planning an array of new classes to help members understand and master social media.

Quincy Access Television will have live audio coverage of the 85th annual Thanksgiving Day football game between the Quincy Presidents and the North Quincy Red Raiders on Thanksgiving morning, November 23rd. Live audio coverage will begin with a pre-game show at 9:30am, followed by live audio play-by-play at 10am. QATV's Jonathan Caliri will call the play-by-play and Jim Timmins will serve as color analyst. Replays of the game can be seen on QATV-8 starting Thanksgiving afternoon. The replay times are:

Quincy Access Television will hold its annual fall Open House on Thursday, September 7th from 6pm to 8pm at our studio located at 88 Washington Street in Quincy Center.  The public is welcomed to tour the facility, learn about public access television and get information on how to become a member at QATV.  Open house visitors will also get a behind-the-scenes look at how a show is produced and an opportunity to meet the “stars” of current QATV programs.  All visitors will be entered into a free drawing for a GoPro Hero5 Black camera and a 1-year QATV membership.

QATV’s fall semester will begin on Thursday, September 14th with an “Orientation to Community TV” to be held at 6:30pm.  The orientation session, a requirement for all new members, will provide an overview of QATV policies, a tour of the facility and information about courses offerings.  A six-week Studio Production class will begin on Tuesday, September 19th.  Participants will learn the basics of how to produce a studio show, incuding pre-production elements, audio, graphics, directing and more.  Portable Production & Editing will begin on Thursday, September 21st. Camera movement, tripod tips, and how to edit footage (using Final Cut Pro X software) will be covered in the six-week course.
